Walk Against Warming
October 26th 2007 03:30
Walk Against Warming (WAW) is Australia's community day of action on climate change and aims to be the voice for our planet and our children's future.
The initiative also aims to combat the overwhelming evidence that climate change will have serious economic, social and environmental impacts thus threatening our quality of life.
So join WAW to show our political leaders that Australians are deeply concerned about global warming and to highlight the need for laws in place to reduce Australia’s greenhouse pollution by:
- reducing energy use
- increasing energy efficiency
- a shift to renewable energy
- better public transport systems
- bringing an end to land clearing and logging of old growth forests
- placing a price being placed on carbon pollution
