Theatresports Celebrity Challenge 2006

Now i don't usually go nuts for Theatresports, I’ve seen it a few times at Manning Bar (the University of Sydney's flagship drinking place) and to be honest it hasn't got my attention long enough for me to stick around for more than 10 minutes... plus it's usually packed and I'm trying to find someone I'm supposed to meet up with. What makes the Theatresports Celebrity Challenge different is that while enjoying the usual Theatresports laughs, you might see a well known TV personality making a complete arse of themselves for the sake of raising money for charity! Plus, the celebrities this year are to be decked out in Burlesqueish gear, adding to the giggles and potential for mishaps!
Basically the idea behind the Theatresports Celebrity Challenge is to get a bunch of celebs and impro-comedy champions to battle each other for laughs from the crowd and votes from the judges, to decide the champion at the end of the night. This annual event is put on to raise some much needed cash for the Starlight Children's Foundation, so not only do you get a night of laughs, you also get to help out a fantastic charity in the process.
I'm giving you a bit of a heads up on this one because it's well worth it to go, and if your a student it may take you quite a few weeks to save up so you can go! The Challenge is on the 12th of August at the Enmore Theatre, and bookings can be made through ticketek (tickets are $42.90 for adults and $37.90 for students, seniors and kids).
This years celebrities include Tim Harding from High Five, Home & Away stars Amy Matthew and Ada Nicodemou, host of Big Brother Up Late Mike Goldman and Adam Spencer.
