The Sleepy Jackson - Century Theatre

The Sleepy Jackson on a record is ordinary at best. See them at a festival or a gig, and you've got one hell of a show on your hands.
I've seen the Sleepy Jackson on at least two separate occasions at festivals and each time I’ve been impressed how the men take the stage and perform. Post-performance, I've got a hold of a record of theirs, and was actually quite disappointed at how their music doesn't translate well to a recorded medium. Even their new album doesn't quite get there for me. However, I would gladly pay money again and again to see them live. Luke Steele in particular has a fantastic stage presence, and he looks remarkably like a friend of my brothers.
If you get a chance, I suggest you head down to the Century Theatre (Previously known as the METRO) and check them out, they're playing a bit of a tour in support of their latest release 'Personality One Was A Spider One Was A Bird' and will be appearing on the 16th of September, tickets are $34 with booking fee. Book through Moshtix here.
If you do go to the gig, keep your eye on the drummer, he loves to throw stuff around!
