The Sydney Writer’s Festival is an annual event that showcases the talents of writers of all types, styles, hats and genres from all corners of the globe.
I like to write, but unfortunately I don’t think that my ability is really up to scratch. That's what is so good about this festival and its the reason that it was ranked number 1 in the top 10 list of things to do in May, not only because can you go and listen to some of the worlds most prominent writers today, but it allows you to take home some of that advise and implement it within your own writing pursuits.
This year the festival attracts 70 international and 210 Australian guests to talk about their writing and hopefully allow some of their talent to rub of on their audience, with many of the festivals events being absolutely free! They're all easy to find too, if you interested in taking a look at the free events go here.
The Sydney Writer’s Festival may appear to hold little if any value to those of us without a palette for literature. However, writing is not just about a single person jotting down thoughts and leaving them in a dusty volume for no one to read. This Festival, and writing in itself, is about communicating however you can, and I can guarantee that if you attend even one of the offered seminars, talks, lectures etc, you will get something out of it, whether it be an idea to write down, or it may simply inspire you to pick something up.
The festival commences on the 22nd of May and completes on the 28th. I suggest, whether you be a budding writer or a reader of anything (including comics or the newspaper) you go on to the site, find something near you and take part in the Sydney Writers Festival, it is definitely something that you will enjoy.

Matt my dear, the irony of a typo in the title of your Writers' Festival is too much for me!
