The Sydney Opera House designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon and completed in 1973, is one of the world's most famous structures.
With its distinctive sculptural shell, it's a full-scale performing arts complex with five major performance spaces. The grand Concert Hall, Opera Theatre, Drama Theatre, Playhouse and The Studio have brought more than 50 million guests here to see ballet, opera, ensemble, orchestral music and even some rock n roll.
The hour-long Essential Tour is exactly that - essential. Tours leave every half hour from 9am-5pm daily.
