Surry Hills Festival - On the Green

May 16th 2006 23:35
whoops I forgot one! This post is the last of the brst things to do in May series, it's the Surry Hills Festival - On the Green. This year the Surry Hills Festival is on at Prince Alfred Park, this saturday the 20th of May. With live entertainment on three main stages plus three DJ stages, street theatre, markets and pleanty of other things to do.

There will be 250 or so market stalls and a wide choice of food available from the international food fair. While there is no BYO there is a licensed area onsite if you want to have a bit of a drink. The Surry Hills Festival is essentially a fundraiser for the community centre, so entry is by gold coin donation.

For more information on what is happening on the day go here.

Noice, might well get along to this...

Can I make a request for more low-budget things to do? Never felt so much like a student (of course this is all in honour of feeling like a queen in SE Asia but STILL).

Just a suggestion, keep up the good work =)

Being a poor uni student too, i know the pain of seeing thing way out of your price range. However, i mostly post thing that arn't cheap/free because thats the domain of Sydney Fun and i really dont want to go treading on toes. Basically, because the mandate of Sydney Fun is to find entertainment under $20, it would be pretty unfair if i posted up a whole heap of cheap things and left Rach with nothing to write about. However i will try and post cheap things regularly, possibly even have a themed day like "freebie friday" or "Cheap Tuesday" something like that.

Thoughts/comments?

I have abandoned the 'not treading on toes' philosophy. I think the mandate is to write a good blog, and I don't think your angle is quite so prescribed.

You probably have different readerships anyway, and there is nothing wrong with two posts on the same event.

That's my position anyway. The 'tightass' approach was only a suggestion, what you're doing now is fine to my eyes but hey, I'm just a punter =P
