Put the YOU in Youth Week

Well, this is the second installment of the Youth Week special and there is still pleanty of thing around for you to look at and enjoy. The govenment (both state and federal) has put their hands in their pockets and managed to find some spare change (over $700,000 in change in fact) so that everybody between the ages of 12-25 can have a fantastic week. This has amounted to over 3000 events nationwide. So again i have to say emphatically...GET OUT THERE AND ENJOY YOURSELF!
Now, on to whats happening around sydney;
Guildford's Movies Under the Stars (Holroyd City Council- Community Project)
An outdoor cinema, screening films made by local young people as well as a popular movie. The event aims to address issues and concerns of youth, while promoting their talents and skills. Ive been to a few outdoor cinema events, and they're always fantastic, take along a blanket, some food and friends and enjoy the talents of local young people. Basics;
Date-7 April 2006
Time- 5pm - 9:30pm
Venue- Warnock Park or wet weather venue, Guildford Community Centre (across the road)
Address- O`Neill Street, Guildford West (1 minute from Guildford railway station)
Smart Arts 2006 (Council of the City of Sydney- Workshop)
This is an anual event that provides a wide array of entertainment and free workshops showcasing the artistic and creative talents of young people in Sydney. Featuring MC Phreaze, hip hop and rap, open mic competition, drumming workshops, break dancing, chalking, bands, stalls, music, food and prizes to be won. There is so much more info on this event and you can find it all right here, i really suggest you get onto it and have a look. Here's the basics;

Venue- Pine Street Creative Arts Centre
Address- 64 Pine Street Chippendale
