Now on at the world famous Sydney Opera House is "Play! A Video Game Symphony" - all your favourite game tunes performed by the Sydney symphony in a polyphonic, multimedia and live music experience.

Conducted by Arnie Roth and backed by choral sensation Cantillation, PLAY! brings to life the award-winning music of the biggest and best games around - while massive screens, suspended over the orchestra, capture stunning gameplay sequences.


The following themes will be played:

Final Fantasy VI &VII
Metal Gear Solid
Halo
Castlevania
World of Warcraft
Kingdom Hearts
The Legend of Zelda
Super Mario Bros
Sonic the Hedgehog
Lost Odyssey
Blue Dragon
Chrono Trigger Cross
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Shenmue
Silent Hill

The performance is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes including an interval.

Tue 19 to Sat 23 June

How Much?

Tue 19, Wed 20 & Thu 21 & Fri 22 June at 8pm
A Reserve: $69/$64*
B Reserve: $59/$54*
C Reserve: $49/$44*
Child Price for any Reserve: $44^
A Reserve Family Ticket : $189
B Reserve Family Ticket : $169


*Concessions are available to Australian Pensioners, and full-time Students (ID required)

^ Child Price is for children 16 years of age and under in any reserve

geek meets high culture. another example of 'fusion' getting a bad name. still...if i had the cash and weren't studying for exams i probably degrade myself and go.

I agree...to a certain extent.

If it means attracting a different (and younger) audience to the pleasures of symphonies, then it'll be a success!
