This new event, jointly funded by Marrickville Council and City of Sydney, celebrates the fashion of Newtown Precinct in all its guises - avant garde and edgy, emerging and established, alternative and innovative, new and vintage.
Encompassing fashion parades, performance nights, in-store activities and huge discounts, fashion fans must not miss this new event.
Saturday 19 May - 10am - 5pm
Discounts, promotions and instore activity all over Newtown, and three fashion parades at the Malborough Hotel.
Shows at 12.30pm, 2.00pm, 3.30pm duration half hour each.
Be inspired and excited as the fashions of Newtown Precinct come to life on real people strutting down the catwalk at the Marlborough Hotel.
Plus three special events:
Lunarmorph Fashion Parade - Friday 18 May, 7 - 10pm.
Lunarmorph is an arts/performance night celebrating alternative culture and fashion. This night, directed by the producers of the Under the Blue Moon Festival, celebrates the goth, fetish and clubwear of the precinct and the designer as subversive artist. The venue is Carriageworks, Sydney's new home for contemporary arts. Tickets are $20, available at www.moshtix.com.au or on the door.
The Fitting Room - 19 May, 9pm - midnight
The Fitting Room is an interactive theatrical experience which takes place in the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, transformed into a fantastical department store for one night only. Tickets availabe on the door - $10.
The Finale at the Malborough Hotel, Wednesday 23 May, 7.30pm - late
Free, Flaunt Its wrap party, featuring parades and music. Everyone welcome - mix with the models and meet the designers.
