Fort Denison

August 2nd 2008 23:59
Fort Denison Island

This historic venue set in Sydney's world-famous harbour was completed in 1837 as a home for the worst convicts.

Featuring warm sandstone finishes and unobstructed views of Sydney's iconic Opera House and famous Harbour Bridge, the venue and Island itself is now a popular tourist attraction, museum, cafe and also a popular wedding venue.

The 1pm cannon is still fired daily in honour of the traditional method used for time keeping by the early settlers.
