Events For Students - EXAMS

June 5th 2006 14:34
Category: Non-Events
It late and I'm tired and the only events I can think of right now are my looming exams. Stress is a killer, sapping energy and much needed social life. Exams have an extensive impact on every facet of the life of the student - clothing is poorly matched, informative blogs are forgotten by the hordes of readers they once had, novels go unread, video stores are forced out of business, newsagents boom particularly the sale of 30c pens and note pads, electricity bills go up, midnight oil sales go through the roof, as does the sale of double ended candles, their wicks scorched at both ends.

Wiki-candle
All over Sydney thousands of students mourn for the loss of their lives, not through war, occupation or hard labour, nay, education be this cruel master. These are the crucial weeks; failure will cost a fortune - both in students re-taking subjects and the shame sitting in a lecture theatre with students of inferior intellect.

If you see a student today - distinguished by their facial hair long and unkempt, or unbrushed hair swirling forlornly in the wind - have some pity, pat them on the back and let them know the pain will be all over soon....

Only two short weeks... Hopefully avoiding a burn out...

Anyone with me here?

Sucks to be you. But I sympathise. Exam periods are fucking horrible and I hated them. It does make the post exam party that little bit sweeter. Nothing quite matches the sense of satisfaction (and stupid drunken rediculiousness) as the night of your final exam. Think of it as a small price to pay for the university life. Belive me, you'll miss it when it is all over.

There's always the thought of having failed one, like grammar for example, and having to do it again.
