Eaten Alive at the Australian Museum

Instead of going to see fluffy, cuddly animals at the zoo, put your Spidey-Senses on Terror Alert and check out the Eaten Alive exhibit at the Australian Museum!
It's really just an exhibit for kids, with lots of hands-on displays, and funny robots singing songs about moose and squirrels. At least, that's what happened to me the last time I pulled a rabbit out of my hat.
The Australian Museum is across from Hyde Park, so you could potentially drop the kids off at the museum, head down into Darlinghurst, and have a couple of strong cocktails at one of the many bars along the strip. Just remember to down a couple of breath mints before you pick the kids back up, otherwise they'll suspect that Mommy/Daddy has been in the secret sauce again.
Even better, the Australian Museum does sleepovers, so you could even chase away the spirits of the night while your children are having nightmares about starring alongside Ben Stiller. That's more frightening than any predatory insect, let me tell you.
Eaten Alive is showing at the Australian Museum from Dec. 16 to Apr. 22. ($10 for adults, $5 for student and children)
