Don's Party
July 13th 2007 00:00
David Williamson classic Australian play about, politics, booze and the 'ocker Aussie image has been performed repeatedly since it first made it debut in the 1970's. Made into a film of the same name this uniquely Australian story observes our attitude, language and culture.
Scathing while remaining immensely humorous, punctuating how little has changed in the last 30 years, this is the story of Election day 1969. Don is a devoted Labour lover who is determined to make sure the "Libs" are removed from office. Throwing a party he invites a few friends over, as the men get rowdy and intoxicated the women try to stay out of the way, but the drunker it gets the more promiscuous the behaviour.
