Darling Harbour Jazz and Blues Festival

It's the Queen's birthday this weekend, so we've all got a long weekend. Suitably, many of us are celebrating it by fleeing the city, and shacking up in a nice bed and breakfast somewhere along the coast, giggling while runny egg yolks drip down our chin onto freshly laundered sheets.
Those sad few of us left in the big bad city will have to be content with the Darling Harbour Jazz and Blues Festival, which is on at this very moment.
Yes! Panic! You're missing it!
Don't worry, though. With the long weekend, the festival stretches out till Monday, when you can still pack yourself into a Sydney bus, make your way to the city, try vainly to find seating, then pay $6 for a sausage roll. Ah, the life!
Realistically, though, the Jazz and Blues Festival will probably be an excellent celebration, as it doesn't have the maniacal prestige of the Jazz in the Domain, so seating will probably be fairly easy, and food might be reasonably priced.
Anyway, you're here for the Jazz, right? And the Blues? Are you a hoochie-coochie woman? Do you want one bourbon, one scotch, and that's enough? Were you born by the river?
The Smhuh recommends going to see Kristin Berardi at the festival, a free live event that'll sooth you with that smooth jazz.

"Sunday has Bernie McGann, Bobby Gebert and Ian Cooper. The non-jazz features soulmeister Jackie Orszaczky, Crossfire and Kate Ceberano.
Monday is when Berardi casts her spell (12.30pm, convention centre forecourt). The day's bill includes John Morrison, Janet Seidel, Adrian Cunningham and marvellous American singer Barbara Morrison, who performs twice (once with the US 7th Fleet Big Band). John Leigh Calder, Josh Owen, the Hands and True Live also play."
