Caught Short's Accessible Shorts screening
April 23rd 2008 04:20
Caught Short's ACCESSIBLE SHORTS features films made by, with and about people with mixed abilities. This inspiring and informative selection of shorts has been curated with organisations across the country, revealing the scope of work being created nationally, and the way film-making is enabling individuals to introduce themselves on their own terms.
Highlighting the short films created as part of schemes such as WA’s The Lost Generation; a film project working with individuals who’ve experienced long-term institutionalization, and NEAMI whose project How To Eat An Elephant (The Other Film Festival 06) is based on personal stories about mental illness and the journey towards recovery. Both projects have used cinema as a way for individuals to gain recognition and have a voice.
