Carmina Burana comes to the Sydney Opera House.
An opera of protest, rousing in confrontation the classic scenic cantata composed by Carl Orff was first performed in 1937, ever since it has attracted legions of followers.
Serving as an introduction to classical music for many, the most recognizable portion "O Fortuna" has been used in films like The Doors and Excalibur plus has been endlessly sampled for dance music.
Inspirational, running the gauntlet of emotional experiences this latest performance will be conducted by Brett Weymark with soloists Antoinette Holloran, Grant Smith and Timothy DuFore.
