Billy Elliot The Musical
July 11th 2007 01:17
Inspired by the sleeper hit movie that tells about a young boy's coming of age and sexual awakening in a small mining town. Downtrodden and misunderstood the young lad finds his calling when he slips on a pair of Ballet slippers and pursues his dreams with a passion that overcomes the close minded community more interested in sports, sweat and beer.
Now a theatrical sensation, the stage version of Billy Elliot is on it's way down under. Songs written by Elton John and the original cinema writer Lee Hall and Director Stephen Daldry collabotrate to bring their story to the stage.

The movie was great and I'm sure the musical will be.
I'm addicted, of course, being in love with all dance, and having had 3 children all learning [including the boy] but none shared Billy's passion and didn't have a mining town father mentality approach.
The ending was just the show, it didn't mean that Billy was gay.
