Australia Day 2008
December 3rd 2007 03:00
With over 5,000 events planned across NSW alone, Australia Day has become the country's biggest annual day of celebration.
For Sydneysiders, the lush surrounds of Hyde Park is the setting for a huge celebration in the city CBD starting off with the ABC for Kids show followed by an afternoon of music, performed by some of Sydney’s most talented musicians.
At the famous Sydney Harbour, the Australia Day Parade takes place with a spectacular array of tall ships, and a colourful display or decorated craft including barges, cranes, ferries, tugs, yachts, tour boats and more.
As the day draws to a close, make sure to be at Darling Harbour to witness a magnificent fireworks, and sound and light show.
