The second Kings Cross Food and Wine Festival is on Sunday 30th April and is a celebration of the variety, quality and abundance of food and culture in the area.
This is definitely a festival for lovers of food and wine and will have an excellent atmosphere, with music - jazz, classical and world - and dance. There is a list of events and participants as long as your arm that can be found here but essentially, anything that is decent and food related in the area will probably have something to offer.
I don’t often go to Kings Cross for food, actually I generally don’t go to the cross at all, but now I want to and I suggest you do too, particularly next Sunday during the festival, the diversity of food and entertainment looks fantastic and from the images of last years effort, you will definitely have a good time (its also a good way to finish off your weekend after the German Film Festival).
The event is at Fitzroy Gardens Park - where Kings Cross meets Potts Point, starts at 11am Sunday and finished up around 6pm. There is no indication of cost on the site but I’m sure that regardless of the price you will have an excellent time anyway.
While you’re on your way there, make sure to keep your eyes on the footpath too... "On the same weekend as the Kings Cross Food & Wine Festival, KrossArts are presenting three events celebrating this artistic heartland including the second ChalkItUp event. An event for young and old, artists will create amazing 3D images, using the pavements of Kings Cross as their canvas"
